Loss of a loved one is always hard. This happened to my family late last year. My father-in-law’s death after his long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease was a mixed blessing. We would not have wanted him to suffer any longer, but we miss his unfailing love of us, and his sometimes overwhelming attention to detail. Nobody could install a door or window like William Flowers! Karen, our daughter, proposed the idea of “Team Forget-Me-Not” made up of family members. I created a weight composed entirely of this lovely little flower. Yes, the blossoms in the first of this series are red, white, and blue commemorating Bill’s military service. I’m imbedding a signature canefeaturing this tiny blue flower in the base of each of the weights I make throughout the year since his passing.
